Plant operations NVQ

This Suite of NVQ’s are linked to the CPCS Card Scheme. You can complete the NVQ prior to CPCS testing or the other way round. Wyevern can conduct any category of NVQ related to the CPCS Card Scheme.

The process is relatively easy to understand. The procedure is as follows:

1. Register Candidate (s)
2. Portfolio Build
3. NVQ Induction including profiling and evidence collection/collation
4. Confirmation of underpinning knowledge
5. Worksite Observation

There are three mandatory units within the Plant Operations NVQ:

          VR 01 – Conform to General Workplace Safety

          VR 02 – Conform to Efficient Work Practices

          VR 386 – Prepare Plant or Machinery for Operational Performance

Then, dependent on what category of plant you require you just pick and mix the units accordingly. A 360 excavator NVQ would consist of VR 01, VR 02, VR 386 & VR 389. Unit VR 389 title is to “Operate Plant and Machinery to Excavate”.

So, if you require the 360 excavator NVQ you must complete the four units above to gain the qualification.
