Wyevern Plant Training is a privately owned training company based in Chepstow offering CPCS cards, construction NVQs, Health & Safety courses. The company is a Construction Awards Alliance and a CPCS Accredited Provider. We specialise in providing the construction industry with nationally recognised qualifications. Wyevern are approved for all relevant grant aided plant training courses and have access to NVQ funding through various streams. We have CPCS test centres throughout the South West.

What is the CPCS card scheme? Increasingly, clients and employers are demanding proof of competence from all operators on their sites. Both the major contractors group and the national house building federation insist upon the scheme. The plant CPCS red or blue card proves to employers that you have both the skills and practical experience to do the job effectively.

We offer construction awards alliance NVQs in many subjectsNational Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)

Construction plant NVQs were introduced to enable people already in a certain trade to gain relevant competency qualifications. They are qualifications related to specific areas and based on the work you actually do. Gaining the qualification is through assessment on your work site. The criteria for which is laid down by the CAA. We specialise in providing NVQs in plant, piling and demolition.

 

ICT 600 training and testingCAA Training Programmes

We conduct ICT Training Programmes on behalf of the CAA. These courses are nationally recognised and are regulated by the Awarding Body.

Course durations vary dependent on the type of equipment you are training on. Anywhere between 2 days and 10 days. Course programmes are available from Wyevern.

The new ICT 600 training programme will be available in the later part of this year, however we continue to utilise the existing programmes until the next generation is available.

The HSE ask employers to be able to quantify their employees training as well as their competence. CPCS training is not regulated and no training certificate is issued by them.

Wyevern offer their own Plant Licences to employers who do not need nationally recognised qualifications and card schemes. This scheme meets the HSE requirements and is delivered by nationally accredited Instructors. All plant categories are within this scheme. This scheme is cost effective to both SME’s and small companies who either run their own sites or work in static locations i.e. depots.

Wyevern offer a wide range of other courses that construction companies need. For example we offer Confined Spaces, Deep Excavation, Disc Cutter, Quick Hitch and Banksman courses. All courses are run by nationally accredited Instructors / Lecturers. We continue to develop new courses which we will bespoke for individual clients needs.

Wyevern has access to various funding streams including T2G funding. Train to Gain funding is available through the Learning Skills Council and if your employees meet the criteria the NVQ process could be completed free of charge.

If you are a CITB levy paying company you can be grant aided for most of the short duration courses we run. Construction skills training plans may have to be adopted by your company.
